Great First Week

The first week of school was a huge success. The students were excited to get back to school and enjoyed being here. I am so proud of how they jumped right back into the swing of things. They did all of their work and were expected all week. I cannot wait to see the continued growth of each and every one of them. J

Seesaw App

Good Afternoon,

Today I sent home a paper with information regarding an
app called Seesaw.

Seesaw is an app that empowers students to independently document their learning with built-in creative tools, and provides an authentic audience for their work. Seesaw gives families an immediate and personalized window into their child’s school day, and makes communication with teachers seamless. We will be posting our work and activities on the app to show our work and our growth. This interactive tool is a great way to communicate with your child and tell them how proud you are of their work. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. It went by fast but I am glad to be back in school with your wonderful children. Today, we had a wonderful first day back. The students had a great transition back into the classroom.

This week there will be no homework. Homework will be starting next week. We will be reading high-interest books with chapter questions. The students will be split into 2 groups and read different books. The homework chapters will be posted on the blog weekly.

There have been many new changes in the classroom to increase student independence and responsibility. As the students mature, the classroom will continue to change to meet their needs.

Loki is back and the students couldn’t be more excited to see her. They missed her very much. She has been very active today and is loving all of the student attention.

We are continuing utilizing independent level systems.  The daily level system where the student can earn choice time at the end of each day and goal at the end of each week. This is highly motivating to the students and helps with their behavior and completing work throughout the day. Students are also on a two-strike system where if they exhibits behaviors such as inappropriate language, mean words, refusing to work, not following teacher directions, etc, then they would lose a strike. If they loses two strikes then they would not earn for that particular activity.

Fridays will be goal day. This week we are doing a party. It is my birthday and the students want to celebrate with fun and food. It will be a great way to start the New Year. J

Thank you so much for sending in the classroom supplies. I have written the students’ names on their supplies and they are available for their use.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year.

Thank you
